Food delivery service Calo scores $39M in Series B extension as it sets eyes on the UK
Middle East-based meal delivery firm Calo has extended its Series B round with a $39 million raise led by Aljazira Capital. The latest funding boosts the total well above the $25 million secured in December and drew participation from Nuwa Capital, STV, Khwarizmi Ventures, and Al Faisaliah Group.
Calo, which delivers personalized, ready-to-eat meals for various health goals, will use the funds to launch operations in the U.K. and invest in physical retail initiatives.
Founder Ahmed Al Rawi reported revenue growth close to 100% and over 10 million meals delivered in 2023 across five Middle Eastern countries. Current-year growth is keeping pace.
The company’s expansion will bring it into competition with major U.K. food delivery players and meal-kit providers. Calo is also scouting acquisitions and expanding through retail outlets, kiosks, and a new gym partnership with Armah Sports Company.
