Apple and Google Partner on AI to Power Future Siri

Apple could turn to Google’s Gemini AI to fuel its Siri upgrade, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. The new Siri is expected to launch in 2026, after delays as Apple refines its in-house AI models to compete with rivals.

Bloomberg says Apple and Google have reached a formal agreement to test Gemini within Siri. If integration proves effective, the technology could also be applied to Safari and Spotlight search.

Spotlight, once envisioned as an alternative to Google for quick answers, has lost ground to modern AI chatbots that handle far broader queries. Apple now seeks to close that gap.

The refreshed Siri will reportedly integrate multimedia search, local recommendations, and summarization. It will also draw on personal data for tailored responses and support expanded voice navigation.
