Apple’s iPhone Air: Redefining Thinness With a $999 Price Tag

During its September event, Apple revealed the iPhone Air, the thinnest model in the company’s history at 5.6mm. CEO Tim Cook called it the “biggest leap ever for iPhone” and the first new device line since the iPhone X seven years ago. The $999 Air is positioned between the entry iPhone 17 and the Pro model.

All iPhone 17 models feature the A19 Pro chip and N1 wireless chip with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. The Pro line introduces vapor chamber cooling, and the full series debuts with the Liquid Glass design running on iOS 26.

Apple also unveiled the Watch Series 11, which adds 5G and hypertension monitoring, alongside the Ultra 3 with satellite communication. The new AirPods Pro 3 cost $249 and include heart-rate tracking, broader workout support, better noise cancellation, and live translation.

AI announcements were limited to minor Apple Intelligence improvements. Analysts expect substantial advancements in the coming years, potentially around 2027.
