Google doubles down on ‘AI phones’ with its Pixel 10 series
Google’s Pixel 10 lineup launches with AI enhancements that set it apart from Apple’s expected iPhone 17. At Made by Google, the company highlighted AI features extending beyond last year’s Pixel 9 series.
Gemini Live, image-generation tools, call notes, and searchable screenshots remain core features, with live conversations now lasting five times longer than text. Pixel 10 adds Visual Overlays, Magic Cue, Camera Coach, Voice Translate, Take a Message, and Pixel Journal.
Visual Overlays guides users through the camera view, while Magic Cue offers suggestions within apps and Daily Hub. Camera Coach helps improve composition, Auto Best Take selects optimal shots, and Ask Photos enables AI editing.
Voice Translate supports real-time translations in 11 languages, Take a Message generates transcripts and actionable insights, and Pixel Journal prompts reflections and tracks goals.
Other improvements include AI-powered Gboard tools, Pixel Studio screenshot updates, and Notebook LM integrations, all powered by the Tensor G5 processor and Gemini Nano.
